Hey everybody,
If you’re reading this, you may notice something is new. Well you’re right. Welcome to my new blog, Iridescently Katey! Let’s start with acknowledging what influenced me to do this. In a social media driven world, it’s easy to get lost scrolling through different apps. As I scroll through my different social media accounts, I noticed that my favorite accounts were social media bloggers. These woman who are every day human beings just moving through life and documenting it through their social media page. Not only that but they are also sharing shopping experiences, product reviews, try on hauls, tutorials, etc. So I thought to myself, if they can do it, why can’t I? These ideas of how I would create a blog and what I could do to make it more relatable for people in this area started floating in daily. I expressed the idea to my boyfriend and he immediately supported and encouraged me to try it out. Therefore, Iridescently Katey was born.
Why Iridescently Katey, you may ask? Well for starters, my name is Katey. If you know me personally, I have a good bet you know why I picked iridescent. But for those of you who do not, I’m a huge glitter/holographic/rhinestone/sequin/iridescent fanatic! If it’s shiny, I probably like it, no, LOVE it! I find myself getting extremely distracted sometimes when my eye catches something shining nearby, almost like a gnat that’s intrigued to fly towards the bug zapper. So I started looking up the definition to those different words and the definition to iridescent just resonated with me.

I’ve always thought I had a colorful, upbeat personality. I also love to incorporate a lot of color into my wardrobe and make-up. With that, there was no better way to convey that than with the word iridescent.
*Fun Fact- For my senior high school scrapbook, I had to choose something to compare myself to and I chose Glitter. So yeah…*
